“The old cliché goes, “Age is just a number.” And for a select few, this is true. Kelly O’Brien is one such individual. At age 58, she is competing and winning at the national level in major bodybuilding shows. Kelly related. “In 2017 and again in 2018, I won the over-55 years ofage division as a Figure competitor at the North American Bodybuilding Championships.” She stands 5’3” and competes weighing 119-pounds. How has Kelly O’Brien managed to discover her very own fountain of youth? First and foremost, she is a hardcore bodybuilder and fordecades has been a Parrillo method and product user. She also had some very strong genetics and an interesting backstory. “I grew up on a small farm in Oregon. Never-ending farm chores weremy formative workouts. I endlessly would tote 5-gallon water buckets, one in each hand, every morning at first light.” No days off, no sleeping in on icy freezing winter mornings, Kelly bucked hay, cleaned stalls, shoveled grain, stacked hay bales and was expected to manhandle farm animals. “I had desperately wanted to join sports teams and compete in athletics all duringmy school years.”
